Cells responsible for blood clotting are called platelets. When a part of our body is injured, the platelets come to the injured tissue and start clotting. In the meantime, platelets break down and secrete various growth factors. These growth factors accelerate the wound healing process. In recent years, growth factors within the platelets have been purified and used in various areas of medicine, especially to accelerate wound healing. PRP (platelet rich plasma-platelet rich plasma) applications were initiated considering the regenerative effects of growth factors on tissues. In PRP applications, the platelets in the blood are intensified by 10-20 times and injected into the targeted area. The aim here is to apply the various chemical substances that accelerate the growth factors contained in the platelets and wound healing to the tissues, thus accelerating the self-renewal of the worn tissues. PRP application is performed under the clinical conditions. The blood of the patient is taken, the blood is transferred to a special tube and centrifuged. This process allows the separation of the cellular portion of the plasma with blood. In other words, the red part of the blood remains on the lower part of the tube, while the yellow-white, transparent part remains on the top. There are intense platelets at the junction of the two fluids. Approximately 1-2 cc of this section is applied to the skin with small injectors and fine needles. Aesthetic applications are applied to the entire face, neck and décolleté. It is also applied to the back of the worn hands. When applied to the scalp, it reduces the hair loss and strengthens the hair. PRP applications are applied especially for hair growth after hair transplantation. PRP is performed 2 or 3 times with 2-3 weeks break. It is then repeated once a year. If necessary, more can be done. In PRP application, growth factors are given instead of stem cells.
